On March 5, 1912, voters elect Democrat George F. Cotterill (1865-1958) as mayor of the City of Seattle.
Pursuant to the Freeholders’ Charter of 1890, the mayor’s term of office was two years. Elections were held on the Tuesday following the first Monday in March. The vote counts were as follows:
- George F. Cotterill (D) – 32,085
- Hiram C. Gill (R) – 31,281
