Here’s why alligators will outlive us humans

Alligators are purposefully freezing themselves in North Carolina swamps. Brumation, which is essentially the reptilian equivalent of hibernation, is a dormant period when cold-blooded reptiles temporarily shut down all activity to conserve energy.
